There is a gap in care in the healthcare system when a loved one is in an intensive care unit. This is especially true when it involves a newborn infant that experiences the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). What should be a monumental moment in life that is celebrated with joy, often turns into an overwhelming, anxiety provoking and intimidating experience that impacts the entire family.

NEOwell was founded to empower, advocate and guide families through these critical moments. As compassionate care advisors we partner with families throughout the prenatal, neonatal and postnatal experience. Our engagement begins prior to admission and continues throughout their hospital stay and eventual transition home.
As mothers of former NICU patients and Neonatal Nurse Practitioners that have worked in a level 4 NICU for over 15 years, we see how families are impacted when their infant is in the NICU. In response to witnessing these struggles, we created NEOwell.

Our services include meeting with families before they are admitted to the NICU (i.e. high risk pregnancies, known congenital anomalies or heart defects, twin pregnancies, etc.) to educate and guide them on what to expect for their unique NICU journey. Topics for our pre-admission education include What You Can Do Now to Prepare for the NICU, The Golden Hour, Lactation in the NICU, The Who What Where of the NICU, and Prematurity 101.
