Love, Rachell
“Dear NICU Mama, Practicing gratitude in a season of grief can look like holding onto every precious moment, even the smallest ones.
You may feel both grateful and heartbroken, holding love for your little one while grieving moments lost to tubes and machines. I know the ache of watching your baby fight battles you wish you could take on yourself. When you find yourself worrying, remember that you're not alone. Each tiny milestone and breath reminds us of resilience, yours and your baby’s. Though the future may feel uncertain, the love you carry is a steady light through the shadows.
You may struggle, but you will also find strength you didn’t know you had. You’ll navigate the unknown and hold on to hope, finding gratitude in each precious moment, just as I did. Remember, your journey matters, your pain is valid, and you’re not alone.”
Love,
Rachell
More of Rachell + Nazarine’s NICU Story:
“My NICU stay with my son Nazaire came after nine pregnancy losses, making his arrival both a miracle and a deeply emotional experience. Due to respiratory and cardiac complications, he was delivered at 36 weeks and immediately taken to the NICU. His lungs weren’t fully developed, so he needed breathing support, as well as monitoring for feeding issues and jaundice. While I was recovering from a C-section, I visited him constantly. After three long days, he was finally able to join me in my room.”
