Love, Mariah

“Dear NICU Mama, I hope you give yourself permission to grieve. Grieve the lost weeks and months of time. You did not do anything wrong and your body did NOT fail you.

It's okay to cry, to feel sad ,and to feel disappointed. As a fellow NICU mom it can be tough. The constant sounds of monitors beeping that will forever be stuck in your head, the constant thoughts of 'What did I do wrong?', the constant thoughts of making sure your little one hits all their milestones. This journey is what made you, you. You are strong and you are resilient.

It’s okay to have hard days. It’s okay to feel exhausted, scared, or uncertain. What you are going through is unimaginably tough, but please know that as a fellow NICU mom; you are not alone. Lean on those who are around you—friends, family, and the NICU team—and take time to care for yourself, too.

Your courage is inspiring and your baby is so lucky to have a mother like you who fights so fiercely for them. No matter the hurdles ahead, never forget the love and strength that’s been guiding you every step of the way.

Sending you love, strength, and a reminder to be gentle with yourself. You are doing an incredible job.

Love,
Mariah

“After 3 and a half months in the NICU, my sweet bean was home. She will be 1 years old in October and is happy, healthy and thriving. No time g-tube and I am forever grateful to have her. My beautiful blessing.”
