Love, Brianna

“Dear NICU mama, When I look back on 2024, I see a mama who found the unwavering strength to continue on when it felt like she didn’t know how she would make her way through. A mama who was in fight or flight mode just trying to survive this new chapter. A mama who felt unmeasurable happiness for this precious new life and agonizing sadness for how this new life began.

The road ahead may be full of uncertainty, the NICU journey may exhaust you at times, and it may feel unbearable to watch your baby hooked up to all the tiny tubes and wires. There may be days you feel unmeasurable guilt or that your body had failed you in some capacity. Just know that your body didn’t fail you. There is nothing more you could’ve done. Your strength brought this baby into this world as safely as possible, and now your strength will carry your baby through. Even though the NICU can feel lonely and isolating at time, know that you are not alone. And you, most certainly, are more than enough.

‘Trauma can change our lives-but it can also push us forward.’”

Love,
Brianna
