Dr. Stacy Kern grew up in the small town of Hewitt, Minnesota, on a dairy farm with her five brothers. From a young age, she felt a strong calling to become a physician, driven by her passion for helping people and "fixing" things. After marrying her high school crush, Dr. Kern pursued her education at the University of Minnesota Duluth, majoring in biology with minors in chemistry, philosophy, and psychology. She then attended the University of Minnesota Medical School, where she began her journey into the world of pediatrics and neonatology. After completing her pediatric residency at Sanford Children’s Hospital in South Dakota and a Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at the University of Iowa, she now practices at North Memorial Health - Maple Grove Hospital and also spends time at the Sanford NICU in Bismarck, ND. Dr. Kern has had the honor of caring for some of the most vulnerable infants in the Midwest, including the youngest surviving baby in the world.
When she’s not at work, Dr. Kern resides in Lino Lakes, Minnesota, with her husband and four children. Much of her spare time is spent cheering on her kids at their sporting events, though she also enjoys reading, learning new things, and indulging in her love for interior design. Despite her busy schedule, she remains deeply grateful for the opportunity to care for these special little humans.
